SMS Messaging Terms

Last updated: July 2026

Program Description

Safeguard Signal provides emergency alert SMS messaging on behalf of employers ("Organizations") who use the Safeguard Signal platform. SMS messages are sent to employees who have explicitly opted in to receive emergency notifications from their employer through the Platform.

Who Sends Messages

Messages are sent by Safeguard Signal on behalf of your employer. The sender is identified in every message using the format: [Company Name - SEVERITY]. You will always know which organization is sending the message.

How You Opt In

SMS alerts are opt-in only. To receive SMS alerts:

  • Your employer must have provisioned your account on Safeguard Signal
  • You log into your employee account at your employer's Safeguard Signal workspace
  • Navigate to your Profile page
  • Enter your mobile phone number
  • Enable SMS alerts and agree to the following consent disclosure:
"By enabling SMS alerts, you consent to receive emergency text messages from [Company Name]. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on emergency events. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance."

No SMS messages will be sent to you until you complete this opt-in process. SMS opt-in is never pre-checked or assumed.

Message Types

You may receive the following types of messages:

  • Emergency safety alerts (evacuations, shelter-in-place, active threats)
  • Severe weather and natural disaster notifications
  • Facility and operational emergency notifications
  • IT and infrastructure emergency alerts
  • Test alerts sent by your employer's administrators
  • Acknowledgment confirmations when you reply ACK

Safeguard Signal is designed exclusively for emergency and safety communications. It is not used for marketing, promotional, or routine business communications.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Messages are sent only when your employer initiates an emergency alert or test. There is no fixed or recurring message schedule. During active emergencies you may receive multiple messages if you have not acknowledged a critical alert.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging plan.

How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any message at any time to immediately opt out of all SMS alerts from Safeguard Signal. After opting out you will receive one final confirmation message:

"You have been unsubscribed from Safeguard Signal alerts. No further messages will be sent. Reply START to re-subscribe."

You may also disable SMS alerts at any time through your Profile settings in your Safeguard Signal account.

How to Get Help

Reply HELP to any message to receive assistance information:
